GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 757993
Options for image insertion
Last modified: 2018-05-04 17:52:22 UTC
I'd like to see a couple of options added to the gnumeric 'Select an image' image inserion/import window. One would be a tickbox called something like 'Fit image into current cell' which would hopefully do just that and ideally there would also be a 'Size and position' drop-down menu which lets you set the images size and position settings ie 'Move and resize with cells', 'Move with cells' or 'Absolute size and position'. It would be most useful if this dropdown remembered the last used option. I make these requests because as it stands this is what I have to do every time I insert an image into gnumeric: * Select and resize a row/cell to make the importing and resizing easier * Insert -> Image * Browse to and open desired image * Place the image into the desired cell and resize it to fit * Right-click on the image -> Size & Position * Change 'Move with cells' property to 'Move and resize with cells' * Click 'Apply' and then 'Cancel' to close Size & Position options window Half of those steps would be rid of if the 'Select an image' window implemented my suggestions above. Thanks!
I'd like the 'Fit image into current cell' tickbox to remember the last used option too (enabled or disabled).
For the GUI, that's WONTFIX. This isn't something I see a good cost/benefit for and not something I expect a lot of people to ever use. It should be possible to do what you need via python and introspection now.
