Description sandeep 2015-10-27 20:21:04 UTC
On fedora 23 and Gnome 3.18.

I have a machine with Ubuntu 14.04 and Gnome 3.10 as well as Fedora 23/Gnome-3.18.

I set /etc/profile with $XDG_DATA_HOME, $XDG_CONFIG_HOME and $XDG_CACHE_HOME to different directories (.fedora_local, .fedora_config and .fedora_cache). The directories get created and filled with different files.

When I login to gnome-shell normally, everything works fine - I get the default gnome wallpaper and the first time gnome helper walkthrough.

But when I login to gnome-shell with wayland, I get my old wallpaper (that was set in Ubuntu 14.04/Gnome 3.10) and lots of errors start popping up about configuration.

Clearly, gnome-shell-wayland is not honoring XDG home dir spec.
