GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 755781
Files with copyright but no grant of license. Non-free?
Last modified: 2018-06-29 23:43:17 UTC
"src/doc/finutil.html" have no license grant but mention "Copyright (C) 1990 - 2000 Terry D. Boldt, All Rights Reserved" twelve times. Some other files with copyright "Copyright (c) 2001 Linux Developers Group, Inc." but no license grant are * src/gnc-module/gnc-module.scm * src/gnc-module/gnc-module.c * src/gnc-module/gnc-module.h * src/python/gncmod-python.c * src/engine/gncmod-engine.c * src/engine/test-core/gncmod-test-engine.c * src/tax/us/gncmod-tax-us.c * src/report/stylesheets/gncmod-stylesheets.c * src/report/stylesheets/stylesheets.scm * src/report/report-gnome/gncmod-report-gnome.c * src/report/report-gnome/report-gnome.scm * src/report/locale-specific/us/gncmod-locale-reports-us.c * src/report/standard-reports/gncmod-standard-reports.c * src/report/standard-reports/standard-reports.scm * src/report/report-system/gncmod-report-system.c * src/report/report-system/report-system.scm * src/report/report-system/html-fonts.scm * src/report/utility-reports/utility-reports.scm * src/report/utility-reports/gncmod-utility-reports.c and others...
This problem has been fixed in our software repository. The fix will go into the next software release. Once that release is available, you may want to check for a software upgrade provided by your Linux distribution.
Thanks. It would be nice if you could do few more minor corrections please. For instance in release 2.6.9 files "src/app-utils/gfec.*" claim that they are in "public domain" and GPL-2+ at the same time... File "src/gnome-utils/test/test-gnc-recurrence.c" refer to "COPYING for details" which is unnecessary since it has its own header... Files src/import-export/csv-imp/gnc-csv-gnumeric-popup.c src/import-export/csv-imp/gnc-csv-gnumeric-popup.h have conflicting headers (GPL-2+ versus GPL-2 or GPL-3) I reckon automatic headers update have its pitfalls...
Thanks for the detailed QA. I've fixed the files in question.
No worries. Thanks very much, John. :)
