GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 755147
[Yahoo] Geary does not download some mails although message counter increases
Last modified: 2018-07-11 12:53:19 UTC
When starting Geary, it detects new emails in the inbox and increases the message counter, but those new mails never appear in the message list, and as such I cannot click and read them. When I visit the webmail portal in a browser, I see the new messages, and after reading them geary's message counter also decreases. version: 201509101616~0.10.0+1859~ubuntu15.04.1 It is probably the same as invalid bug #713485 (geary 0.4.0). Switching folders does not make a difference, and contrary to #748548, the messages don't show up after restarting geary. The messages either have no or only very small attachments (42kB).
I have also been experiencing this issue (where the counter will show new mail, but when I go to the folder, there are no new messages). One workaround that I find myself doing frequently is closing geary with a 'killall geary', then reopening the application. This usually loads the new mail.
Hey, thanks for reporting this bug. freddi34: I assume you are using Yahoo mail? xavier: Are you also using Yahoo or some other server?

Michael: I cannot remember if this behavior was isolated to my Yahoo account, or if it also occurred with Gmail and Bluehost.
Mass-reassigning bugs that won't make 0.12.
I am also experiencing this issue, but only with Exchange 2013 accounts over IMAP. My Gmail and iRedMail accounts work do not have this issue.
Bump tickets to 0.14 that aren't going to make 0.13.
Hi all, this sounds like Bug 713910 - i.e. the unread message count changes at startup, but it's actually the count that is wrong, not that messages are missing. As such, I'm going to mark this as a duplicate of that bug, but if you can demonstrate otherwise (e.g. by opening your mail with a different app when this happens, and confirming there are indeed missing messages), then please feel free to re-open this or file a new bug. Cheers. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 713910 ***
