When the current directory is /foo/bar/baz/qux/ and one attempts to navigate to the parent directory /foo/bar/baz/ by entering ".." in the location bar, the chooser ascends to the great-grandparent /foo/ instead.

Equally surprisingly, entering "." ascends to the parent /foo/bar/baz/ .
