GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 752470
windows launched on secondary monitor aren't added to overview right away
Last modified: 2021-07-05 14:39:08 UTC
I've mostly seen this bug with the Places extension, but it's easy enough to replicate using a standard Gnome setup. Simply go into overview and drag an application to the secondary monitor. The application is launched on that monitor, but gnome-shell fails to show the new window in the (still open) overview. Doing the same thing for the primary monitor works fine. The window is correctly displayed once you go out of overview and back again, so it's not a major issue. Still, it's a bit confusing so I figured I'd report it. :)
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-shell/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
