GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 751596
The attachment-related controls in the received message header should be Tab focusable
Last modified: 2021-05-19 12:28:42 UTC
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open a message with an attachment in a new window 2. Press Tab to move amongst the focusable elements in the header Expected results: You would be able to Tab to the expander as well as the 'Save As' button. Actual results: You cannot navigate to either the expander or the 'Save As' button via Tab. If you happen to know that there is an attachment, and if you happen to know the mnemonic for that button, you can then press Alt+mnemonic. But that's two "ifs" that one should not have to depend upon. And that still doesn't let you view the attachments prior to saving them.
Thanks for a bug report. I do not think it's currently doable, due to the mix of a web content with a GtkWidget plugin, specific to WebKitGTK+. This might be addressable once the WebKit2 port is done, because this GtkWidget plugin is gone there.
Just a note, that I can reproduce it even in the ported evolution to the WebKit2. The Tab doesn't want to circle to the attachment bar expander, neither the button. It seems to me that the WebKitWebView doesn't let the focus get out of itself, but maybe I'm wrong.
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org. As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled). If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines and create a new bug report ticket at https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution/-/issues/ Thank you for your understanding and your help.
