GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 751347
Translation of Import/Export should be separate for buttons and menu.
Last modified: 2015-06-24 11:15:10 UTC
When translating Almanah there’s the choice to translate "Import" and "Export" as used in the dialog for the button labels in verb form. However, they also seems to be used in the GUI in the main menu, where they should be translated in subject form (at least that's how they should be in Swedish). Using the same string works fine in English, but not so in other languages, and therefore I propose that the Import/Export translation should be separate for the menu and the buttons.
Created attachment 305965 [details] [review] core: Add translation context to ‘Import’ and ‘Export’ strings The verb form should be used in the import/export dialogue, but the noun/subject form should be used in the main menu.
Thanks for the bug report. Do those contexts look appropriate to you, Josef?
I think that'll be just fine! Thanks!
Merged, thanks. Attachment 305965 [details] pushed as ab6b42a - core: Add translation context to ‘Import’ and ‘Export’ strings
