I think it may be a good goal, however we should rather autodetect the OS than asking the user. Sounds like libosinfo is a perfect fit. Zeeshan, what do you think?

Yes, IMO its not a good idea at all. We should rather fix bug#732811, hopefully through libosinfo. If bug#732811 misses some options that should be enabled, please comment about those on that bug.
