Description Matěj Týč 2015-04-13 22:37:54 UTC
I got used to the Ctrl+W shortcut for closing windows as many Gnome (Nautilus, Evince come to mind) and non-Gnome (Firefox etc.) applications support it.
However, in the 3.16 release, eog doesn't support it any more.

I have learned that Ctrl+Q does the job too, but Ctrl+W seem to be some kind of widely known pattern, so why not to support it too:

Looks like it got lost during the GAction migration. I certainly don't remember a specific reason for why it should go.

Note that there's a difference between Ctrl+W and Ctrl+Q. Ctrl+W will close the currently active window. Ctrl+Q however will quit eog closing ALL open windows in the process.
