Description Egmont Koblinger 2015-04-03 21:20:59 UTC
Current default is 8192 lines.

There's no technical reason for this being a power of two. (Maybe a long time ago the whole scrollback was stored in the ring and then it was fortunate to have it a power of two?? But it's sure no longer relevant.)

How about e.g. 10000 instead?

I don't see anything 'human' unfriendly about power-of-2's, but if you want to change it, do so.
Comment 2 Egmont Koblinger 2015-11-01 23:44:40 UTC
Same goes for vte's built-in default (currently 512, could be 500 or 1000).
Comment 3 Christian Persch 2016-02-21 14:24:50 UTC
Changed to 10000 on master.
