Starting with GNOME 3.16 we streamlined how high contrast icons are managed. The attached patch includes a symbolic variant of the app icon that is used for HC theme and recolorable at runtime.

since gnome 3.16 the recolorable symbolic icon is used
for the high contrast accessible theme

This icon is a great improvement in HighContrast, many thanks. I don’t write chinese, but having a look to a “mahjong red” query in an images search engine, the “red” sign looks understandable, so it’s ok for me to push this patch.
