GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 745199
PDF highlight annotations don't print correctly
Last modified: 2015-02-27 18:34:33 UTC
I have a PDF (attached) with several highlighting-type annotations. They are all rendered correctly on-screen. When I print the document a few of the highlights are handled correctly. Most of them have the yellow highlighting rendered on top of the font, however, thus hiding the text of interest (see attached photo). Attached: example.tar.gz containing example.pdf and example.jpg.

can you print to a pdf and then see what happens there?
(In reply to José Aliste from comment #3) > can you print to a pdf and then see what happens there? The result is the same as when I print it with the printer, i.e. highlights obscuring the text. The resultant pdf is attached as `example_to_pdf.pdf`.
Created attachment 297966 [details] example.pdf printed to file from evince.
Thanks, indeed this is a bug in the cairo backend of Poppler. Could you please file a bug in bugs.freedesktop.org in product:poppler, component:Cairo backend and attach both the example file and the pdf printed from evince? Most importantly, don't forget to verify which version of poppler do you have.
Thanks José! For reference, the bug report can be found here: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=89355
