GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 74511
command line applet shows no cursor
Last modified: 2009-08-15 18:40:50 UTC
Click in command line applet's text entry area. No cursor appears. I can type, but I don't get the normally expected feedback informing me of that fact. This is a cvs build from 3/12/02.
Are you using Metacity?
Yes, but a switch to Sawfish doesn't help.

John, is this with Sawfish for gnome2? I've filed a metacity bug for this.
A switch to sawfish and changing the background/foreground colors so they're not the same *did* help.
I've got GNOME2 sawfish running now, and still no cursor.

I checked with latest(v 1.101.0) panel, I am not finding this problem. I do get black chars on white background with a line(|) type cursor.
I do not have this problem with may 15th 2002 CVS of everything.
Marking as fixed based on the above two comments.
this bug's not resolved but it is a problem of metacity window manager which has bug id 82213 so we can mark this as duplicate of that but the bug still exists and its easily reproducible.
I'm using metacity and the works correctly for me now.
i've also verified this as fixed in source from 30th may - changing to fixed:verified
