GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 741532
RFE: UI improvements showing tomorrow forecast
Last modified: 2015-03-12 01:52:07 UTC
Created attachment 292716 [details] Gnome weather at 11:30pm My most common use case of weather applications is to know the forecast for tomorrow. The current UI shows you by default the today forecast, and summary for five days starting from after tomorrow. The Tomorrow forecast is hidden behind a button. I think the tomorrow forecast should be displayed by default, I think it is more frequently important than the other days. Now if you check the screenshot, you will notice that if I check the weather at 11:30pm, the default is to show an empty forecast for today, because the day is ending. So the fix could be to show five forecast starting from the current time, instead of only the remaning forecast for the current day, for example show 10:30pm (today) 4:30am (tomorrow) ... So the Today/Tomorrow buttons should only say when to start to show values, but if there are not enough data pointes for today it should show tomorrow ones, as the example. and finally add a summary for tomorrow on the left side bar, not to start wit after tomorrow
The empty forecast for today should be fixed in master now, it will automatically switch to tomorrow. Of course, you can switch back, but there's not much point in that. I also fixed the fact that we don't show tomorrow in the weekly forecast sidebar. I'm not sure if there's anything else to do here.
