GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 738802
Slow interface
Last modified: 2014-12-26 14:00:07 UTC
I just upgraded from Gimp 2.8.10 to 2.8.14 on Win7 x64 The image manipulation interface seems to be much slower than before (not menus etc). here's an example 1. make a selection with the selection tool from the first click to being able to make a box is noticable long, I count 2 seconds. The update of the frame is slow too. 2. Use the pencil, click to set the first marker. use shift and see how the curser (not mouse pointer) seems to drag slowly. I think all the slowness I experience are the same (matter of screen update)
Please have a look at bug 736411 and check if you are seeing the same symptoms.
it looks to be the same, except I only use a mouse. I can't test resizing the screen as I've gone back to 2.8.10 I can mention though that I'm working in the single screen mode (no floating toolbars) I used the torrent download and downloaded around a week ago, so I guess it was the setup-1.exe version being used. as far as I remember the dragging also went on in a default new image, but I can't say for sure now.
A slow-down triggered by the position update code in rulers would be noticeable with all input devices, more so the more events they create - and tablets usually do.
If the slowdown is gone temporarily when you disable the rulers (in the view menu), then it is most likely a duplicate.
Assuming duplicate. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 736411 ***
