Description sturle 2014-10-13 13:01:08 UTC
Created attachment 288384 [details]
symbols disappearing outside of the screen due to long device name

With very long wlan device names, like "(Qualcomm Atheros AR5418 Wireless Network Adapter [AR5008E 802.11(a)bgn] (PCI-Express) (AirPort Extreme))", the symbols for signal strength and encryption disappears outside of the right screen edge. See attachment.

I would be happy if the unhandled device disappeared from the list as well. It has no function in the list other than to consume space. I worked hard enough to make Network Manager stay off it. It is inconsistent as well. My other unhandled device, lo (loopback), is not displayed.

Could you please report your network-manager-applet version and distro you use?
The Gtk version might be of interest too.

It seems to me that I already saw this issue.
