Description Anand 2002-03-07 12:12:25 UTC
The latest Gnome 2.0 was built on 6th Mar 2002.

Description:
When user tries to delete a folder created in the 'applications:///' menu
of the gnome-2 menu panel, it doesn't get deleted.

Steps:
1. Right click on the gnome-2 panel and select 'Edit Menus'
2. Nautilus opens up in the 'applications:///' folder.
3. Add a new folder (Right click and select 'New Folder' option or
select 'New Folder' option from the 'File' menu). Folder is created
4. Try to rename the file (right-click -> Rename).
5. Unable to rename folder
6. Try to delete the folder (right-click -> Move to trash)
7. Dialog prompts asking the user "Cannot be moved to trash, Do you want
to delete it immediately?'
8. Even on clicking 'Yes', folder is not deleted.
9. When trying to double click on the folder, a 'Can't display location'
dialog pops up and the folder vanishes (on clicking OK). But clicking
refresh makes the folder to appear again.
10. This folder exists in the Panel -> Applications menu even after
rebooting the system.

Marking "1.1.x" milestone per new scheme for tracking GNOME2 bugs.
Comment 2 Seth Nickell 2002-03-11 00:30:25 UTC
I would suspect this bug is actually in the vfolder method of
GnomeVFS. Not positive though.
Comment 3 Luis Villa 2002-03-14 20:37:09 UTC
Adding George to the cc then.
Comment 4 Benedikt Roth 2002-04-27 13:29:37 UTC
This is a vfolder bug and related to:

#73773 nor Nor jirka@5z.com NEW Cannot rename items in
applications:///

#73769 nor Nor jirka@5z.com NEW Deleted folders in applications:///
don't disappear.

Not sure though what to mark as a duplicate of what...
