GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 738360
Generates broken .desktop files if executable path contains spaces
Last modified: 2014-10-11 19:33:49 UTC
Forwarding from debian BTS: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736166 ----- If a program is added with alacarte that is in a path that contains spaces, the resulting desktop file will not be shown by the shell. Wrapping the Exec= command in quotes (") makes it work. It appears the Exec key is the only one that needs quoting. The Icon key is broken if quotes are added. by Felipe Sateler ------ I tried here with 3.11.91-1 and I couldn't add items while command contains spaces. thanks regards althaser
anyway it always needs " " to be a valid command. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 728372 ***
