GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 737624
Empty Trash button does not work
Last modified: 2017-11-02 12:56:48 UTC
The Empty Trash button in the Privacy panel does nothing. I pressed it about three times while viewing my Trash in nautilus, refreshing manually after each time, then gave up and emptied my trash from nautilus instead. This is with control-center-3.10.3-2.fc20.
This is still a bug in gnome-shell-3.24.1-1.fc26.x86_64 If it's not going to work, the button needs to be removed.
Just to report the same behaviour also with gnome-control-center 3.26.1.. Also "Purge temporary files" seems that does nothing.. or, at least for me, it is not clear what files or folder will be deleted.. Thanks Andrea
This seems to be a gnome-settings-daemon bug. Clicking "Empty Trash" triggers a DBus call to org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Housekeeping I am not able to see the Housekeeping plugin available in the session bus. I'm using d-feet. You should be able to verify that by running: gdbus introspect --session --dest org.gnome.SettingsDaemon.Housekeeping --object-path / --recurse
Created attachment 361217 [details] [review] correctly register the plugin on the bus
Created attachment 361218 [details] [review] corresponding g-c-c change to use the correct bus name
I don’t maintain this code anymore.
