I think that it would be better to not mention a version number (or mention GTK+3) instead of talking about GTK+ 2 in the reference documentation when talking about cell renderers. See https://developer.gnome.org/gtk3/stable/TreeWidget.html

It's a trivial patch, but I'm not sure how it would be affected by the freezes.
