Description Maël Lavault 2014-08-26 11:37:51 UTC
Hi,

When NetworkManager is used to manage the network on a BIRD BGP router with full view (more than 500k routes), it uses 100% of the CPU, making it unusable.
Comment 1 Thomas Haller 2015-04-16 11:48:46 UTC
Changed subject of the bug.

Also, added 3 bugs that address specific issues and block this "general performance isuse" bug.
Comment 2 Maël Lavault 2017-05-26 11:45:55 UTC
So is networkmanager usable now to handle full BGP routing ?
Comment 3 Thomas Haller 2017-05-26 16:15:22 UTC
no, the bug is still open.

and supporting more then half a million routes is a very ambitious goal. That may never work -- at least not, with NM exposing all routes on D-Bus as it currently does.

bugzilla.gnome.org is being shut down in favor of a GitLab instance.
We are closing all old bug reports and feature requests in GNOME Bugzilla which have not seen updates for a long time.

If you still use NetworkManager and if you still see this bug / want this feature in a recent and supported version of NetworkManager, then please feel free to report it at https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/NetworkManager/NetworkManager/-/issues/

Thank you for creating this report and we are sorry it could not be implemented (workforce and time is unfortunately limited).
