GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 734059
Insufficient width of top bar dropdown clips some strings in Russian locale
Last modified: 2015-09-09 15:57:09 UTC
Created attachment 282184 [details] Screenshot that illustrates the problem If the laptop battery is charging, GNOME shell wants to show how much time it would take until it is fully charged. Unfortunately, in the Russian locale, the actual time string is clipped. I am going to attach a screenshot that illustrates this. See the "0:..." near the battery icon.
Created attachment 282185 [details] Screenshot with Large Text accessibility option active The Large Text accessibility option makes the problem worse. I talked to Allan Day and he said that the bubble size should scale together with the text scaling factor in order to avoid this.
Created attachment 292410 [details] Screenshot of the bug with Polish locale I have this issue too. Translation is correct but long and shell truncates the text, so the most important info (percentage) is not shown. openSUSE 13.2 x64 with GNOME 3.14, Polish translation. The bug title and affected version should be changed, but IDK how to do it. (Time is meaningless, as it's calculated based on past load, and load can change quickly. I can play a game, then suspend, unsuspend, play some more and then start reading a PDF. Time changes wildly and is inaccurate. /rant)
