GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 733249
Make it easy to add URLs
Last modified: 2016-03-31 13:22:00 UTC
Currently user need to know the syntax of URL to be able to add new spice, vnc and libvirt connections. This is very tedious for users and it would make sense for users to be able to add new boxes/connections without having to know the URL or syntax of URL even.
Forgot to add that user who reported this suggested that Virt Manager has a dialog that enables you to fill in the various criteria for a URL - might be good to have something similar here.
well, people enter URL everyday you know, it's not something they are "unfamiliar" with.
(In reply to comment #2) > well, people enter URL everyday you know, it's not something they are > "unfamiliar" with. Not with the concept of URL but not the form of each type of URL. :) If I know that I got a spice connection on host 'weirdo' on port '5555', doesn't mean I know how to turn that into a URL.

Now we describe what kinds of URLs are supported and provide some examples. Besides user will typically copy&paste these URLs anyway.
