GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 728192
HiDPI: Protect user of unwanted behaviour
Last modified: 2014-09-25 19:23:38 UTC
Yesterday I changed the value of the HiDPI to 2 for testing. The shell became not funcional. The worst part is that gnome-tweak-tool was ocupying more than what my screen could handle, so it was impossible to return to the original value. Even worse, the "reset to defaults" didn't work for hidpi. So I would apply one or all of those options: 1- Prevent increasing Hidpi if resolution at the end is not enough for gnome to work. 2- Make gnome-tweak-tool maximized and allowed to scroll on small screens resolutions. 3- Make "reset to defaults" work for HiDPI Fedora rawhide
Incidentally I did exactly the same thing while playing around yesterday. I had to move the window using super+move with mouse and then tab my way to the spinner for the setting... Maybe having a confirmation dialog with count-down (similar to the ones commonly used for setting screen resolutions) would be a good idea here?
