Description Milan Crha 2014-04-14 09:38:42 UTC
This had been reported as part of a downstream bug report:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1085750

Matthew's investigation on it shows:

The constant refetching seems to be the result of the log message:

"Eep, after QRESYNC we're out of sync."

Which (AFAICT) always follows messages about unseen flag mismatches:

"Not updating unseen count for new message XXX"

Which can occur in the event of a stale UIDNEXT value.

It's to be investigate what happens and how to properly fix it. It is also possible that this is (partly) covered by bug #728167, when the IMAPx does full refetch on such QResync error.

GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/Community/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/evolution-data-server/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
