Description darkxst 2014-04-11 05:25:54 UTC
If the data directory for tracker miners is missing/not found for some reason, then initialize_miners_data() will hang since it doesn't appear to ever receive the finished signal which kills the main_loop.

This was seen with gnome-photos just hanging at startup before displaying a GUI.

also the hang only happens if the directory is missing. Will run fine if the directory exists but is empty.

I know you reported the bug first, but the other bug report has more detail.
Regarding the hang, this isn't the case with >= v1.0.0, not sure why it hung before but it seems to work in the latest versions.
