Description Asif Ali Rizvan 2014-02-21 23:51:39 UTC
Please add a plugin or right-click context item to search for selected text using search-engine;

this is really a small yet very used feature; especially while reading a website, we need to lookup and search for some keywords or names, etc. and this will really make using gnome-web more fun!

firefox shows on right click for selected text:
Search Google for "...selected text"

I would really appreciate this feature enhancement. Thanks.

I also would like this feature in epiphany.

Currently what I do is:

- Select text
- Right click > Copy
- Open new tab
- Right click on address bar > Paste
- Enter

Too many steps for something I use too often. Approximately 8 times per hour, as I read several articles online.

This feature would reduce the steps to:

- Select text
- Right click > Search text in [search-engine]

Or you could implement "Paste and Go" (like Firefox) in the "address bar" to make it less painful, but I think this is for another bug report.

Is it possible to implement this or is not as simple as it seems?

This bug should be closed as this feature was already implemented on Bug 663545

Looks like I'm not the only one who accidentally reports the same thing twice. :p
