The value in the sidebar for the Drafts folder is the number of messages, not the unread count.  When composing a draft message, that value will fluctuate as drafts are added and old drafts removed.

In master, the value will usually be one more than the server's reported count (which I can see in the debug log).

I investigated and have a patch I believe will fix this, but want to test it more before committing.
