GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 724501
Allow DSL connection over VLAN interface
Last modified: 2017-11-13 11:40:18 UTC
NetworkManager is currently unable to use a VLAN interface for a DSL connection. German Telekom VDSL uses VLAN #7 for their PPPOE traffic. Please extend nm, so that I can specify a ethernet device (instead of a MAC address) over which pppoe is made. In nm-connection-editor I can only select a MAC address of an ethernet device over which DSL is routed. However, I want to select a ethernet device, in my case eth1.7 I tried to create a VLAN interface with a new MAC address and use that address for the DSL connection. However, upon "up" nm says: Error: No suitable device found: no device found for connection 'VDSL'.
I use NetworkManager-0.9.9.0-28.git20131003.fc20.armv7hl
I too am interested in this (for France's Orange fiber connection).
I think this is a dupe of bug 559134, or at least they are strongly related. Depend this bug on the other.
bug 559134 has been fixed. Fix landed in Network Manager 1.10. Please test and report whether this bug is fixed too or not.
