Description Jim Ryan 2014-02-13 08:05:48 UTC
Whenever I try to adjust the font size of a text element, GIMP constantly crashes. This is extremely reproducible. It has crashed about 20 times today.
Comment 1 Michael Natterer 2014-02-13 08:29:50 UTC
This is probably bug 694417, please try 2.8.10 and report back.
Comment 2 Jim Ryan 2014-02-13 15:47:15 UTC
OK, I've installed it. I'll test for a few days and report back.
Comment 3 Jim Ryan 2014-02-24 05:02:36 UTC
Still crashing consistently on 2.8.10
Comment 4 Michael Schumacher 2014-02-24 19:37:46 UTC
Can you describe how this can be reproduced? Please include details such as font sizes and font in the description.
Comment 5 Jim Ryan 2014-05-09 21:32:35 UTC
GIMP is still crashing constantly and it is repeatable. I'm using font face "Intro" but this problem is not limited to just the one font face (happens with any font face). Also, it's not specific to any particular font size. When I try to change the font size, it will crash.

Do you want me to collect logs or something?
Comment 6 Diego Ariel 2014-07-10 13:10:27 UTC
This problem is similiar to mine?

Comment 7 Michael Schumacher 2014-08-06 23:57:24 UTC
Maybe, different platform though.
Comment 8 Michael Schumacher 2014-09-24 22:01:32 UTC
What about 2.8.14?
Comment 9 Diego Ariel 2014-09-25 12:07:13 UTC
If the same thing keeps happening in trisquel gnu/linux.
But applying the solution to this bug: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=732859
the error does not appear.

Thanks, let's resolve as duplicate.

Comment 11 Michael Schumacher 2014-09-25 21:30:49 UTC
IMO, comment #9 was a guess - and this is a different platform.
Comment 12 Michael Natterer 2014-09-26 07:35:49 UTC
Comment #9 says that applying the fix for bug 732859 makes it go away,
but feel free to reopen, I can't try myself.
Comment 13 Michael Schumacher 2014-09-26 17:47:13 UTC
Comment 9 says that the same fix as in the other bug also applies to Trisquel (a Linux distro).

This bug is about the Windows platform.
Comment 14 Michael Schumacher 2015-04-03 11:39:11 UTC
Let's reopen that, IMO the cause has not been determined yet, but NEEDINFO hides the bug from too many searches.
Comment 15 Michael Natterer 2015-04-03 15:21:40 UTC
This bug still says 2.8.6 or 2.8.10, what about 2.8.14?
Comment 16 Jim Ryan 2015-04-03 16:10:08 UTC
I no longer experience the bug in 2.8.14. I will do some more testing but this may have been fixed.
Comment 17 Michael Natterer 2015-04-03 17:44:26 UTC
Thanks, this must be bug 694417 which is fixed.
