GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 719894
Implement support for mounting Google Drive as device in Files
Last modified: 2013-12-05 22:17:11 UTC
I think this feature could improve the use of Google Drive in a GNOME environment. Google has no official client and GNOME already have support for Mail, Calendar, Contacts, Chat, and Documents. So why not support for Drive.
We would need a GVfs backend based on libgdata for this. However, I am not sure how feasible it would be to shoehorn Google Drive's semantics into the GVfs abstraction which assumes a UNIX-like hierarchical filesystem. Reassigning to gvfs.
There is this unfinished attempt at writing a Google backend for GVfs: https://github.com/thiblahute/gvfs/tree/googledocuments
