GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 719416
Port gstreamer-vaapi to GStreamer 1.4 APIs
Last modified: 2015-07-29 14:18:57 UTC
This is a placeholder for features or bugs to be fixed for decent support for GStreamer 1.4. Conversely, this can also hold features to add by GStreamer 1.4 timeframe for an improved integration of gstreamer-vaapi.
The workaround whereby memory:VASurface capsfeatures should not be added to the srcpad caps to help auto-plugging of vaapisink is still valid for GStreamer 1.4.0 release. Sreerenj informed me however that it just works with current GStreamer 1.5-git (1.6.0). So, it looks like we are going to track that now for the next 1.6 target. :)
Or we could cherry-pick the relevant patches for 1.4.1. Though, it would be a little hard to detect at run-time whichever version is used. Any comments?
Probably can close this?
(In reply to Jan Schmidt from comment #3) > Probably can close this? I agree. Let's close it. If anyone disagrees (Gwenole or Sree?), please reopen it.
It would be good if there was one time that gstreamer-vaapi worked when stable version get released. It fails to play back in Totem 3.14 with GStreamer 1.2, it also fails with Totem 3.16 and GStreamer 1.4. I'd welcome backports.

Hi Bastien, A couple months ago, I spent some thime on this debian bug: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=762579 Except that workaround, I couldn't find a fix.
