Disturbing not to see if it is morning or afternoon. Even when default option is set to 24 hour format, basic informations use incomplete 12 hour format. Related issues: related to shotwell - 2462: shotwell doesn't seem to take LC_TIME variable fully into... (Open) ---- Additional Comments From shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2013-08-21 17:42:00 -0700 ---- ### History #### #1 Updated by Jim Nelson 6 months ago * **Status** changed from _Open_ to _Need Information_ What language and locale are you running with? #### #2 Updated by Thierry Le Guillou 6 months ago I am french and my locales are for France. #### #3 Updated by Jim Nelson 6 months ago What version of Shotwell are you using? We attacked this problem in 0.14 and thought it was fixed for all major languages. What format are you expecting? 12-hour format with AM/PM or 24-hour format? #### #4 Updated by Thierry Le Guillou 6 months ago Version 0.14.1 with Ubuntu and Yorba PPA (ppa.launchpad.net/yorba) I think 24h format is the best because more universal (12h AM/PM format is a very anglo-saxon way). Thanks to take my remarks in account. Thierry #### #5 Updated by Joe Bylund 6 months ago * **File** issue_6939.patch added * **Category** set to _Internationalization_ I can confirm this is an issue in French. Patch displays 24 hour time (based on Thierry's input), and also fixes the developer replacing a "[nbsp]" with a space. #### #6 Updated by Anonymous 6 months ago * **Status** changed from _Need Information_ to _Fixed_ Applied in changeset 5eaa1886dc39b849794c45ed757269caa361da3b. #### #7 Updated by L López 5 months ago I can confirm this for Spanish too using shotwell 0.14.1 on Debian Jessie (testing). Problem comes from translation files, there is no translation for time-format strings in the es.po file, so shotwell is using the default string: "%-H:m %p", the AM/PM format. I guess there will be more languages with this problem. As a workaround I edited the .po file, rebuild the .mo one from it (using msgfmt) and I copy the mo file to the appropiated location. #### #8 Updated by Jim Nelson 3 months ago * **Status** changed from _Fixed_ to _Open_ * **Priority** changed from _Low_ to _High_ It looks like this remains a problem in a number of translations: http://lists.yorba.org/pipermail/shotwell/2013-August/004943.html I think we should take a hard look at #2462 as the cure for this problem. --- Bug imported by chaz@yorba.org 2013-11-25 22:11 UTC --- This bug was previously known as _bug_ 6939 at http://redmine.yorba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6939 Imported an attachment (id=262774) Unknown version " in product shotwell. This is a duplicate of bug #716533. Some of these issues have been addressed, but we have to rely on translators to fix the strings. Others, like 12/24-hour time, need to be addressed still. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 716533 ***
