Description Charles Lindsay 2013-11-25 21:58:59 UTC

---- Reported by lucas@yorba.org 2013-03-25 14:30:00 -0700 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 6669
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/6669
Searchable id: yorba-bug-6669
Original author: Lucas Beeler
Original description:

Shotwell uses signed 32-bit integers to store dates and times. Dates and times
are stored in standard UNIX fashion, relative to 1/1/1970. This gives Shotwell
a representable date range from 1904 - 2038. We have had a downstream request
to allow dates in the year 1900, four years outside of the supported range:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/1159829

Academics and others that are using Shotwell to curate archival photos might
find the 1904 lower bound to be an unnecessary constraint that limits their
use of the application.
