---- Reported by adam@yorba.org 2011-08-28 23:47:00 -0700 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 4040
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/4040
Searchable id: yorba-bug-4040
Original author: Adam Dingle
Original description:

In Shotwell today, once a photo has been imported as RAW+JPEG it cannot be
separated into distinct images.  Similarly, if the library contains separate
RAW and JPEG images it's not possible to combine them into a single RAW+JPEG
image.  We should make this more flexible.  A user might, for example, want to
discard all the RAW or all the JPEG images from their RAW+JPEG pairs, which is
not possible in Shotwell today.  I think the user should probably be able to
switch back and forth on the fly (perhaps for individual images, or perhaps
for all images in the library at once).  We should take a closer look at how
Aperture and Lightroom handle RAW+JPEG before committing to any particular
path here.

  * **Target version** set to _0.12_

For 0.12, at the very least I think we should make it possible to combine RAW
and JPEG pairs that already exist in a Shotwell library.

  * **Description** updated (diff)
  * **Category** set to _4_
  * **Target version** deleted (<strike>_0.12_</strike>)

From our discussion, this sounds like it's going to be a more complicated task
than we can bite off for 0.12.

I would also suggest in the preview of the image when in event view to be able
to select if you want the jpg or raw shown.

This is too much of a task for our limited 0.14 development cycle. We'll
consider this for 0.15.
