---- Reported by shotwell-maint@gnome.bugs 2010-09-20 06:47:00 -0700 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 2580
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/2580
Searchable id: yorba-bug-2580
Original author: BillP -
Original description:

When comparing images, many times keeping the zoom level and location of the
window is very useful; for example focus checking.

This should not be a preference; it's usability is limited if you have to go
into a menu to enable it. A radio button in the zoom slider area would be a
logical location. _(As would adding a_ **`[1]`** _radio button for 1:1 zoom to
match the Ctrl-1 keypress.)_

#1

Updated by Adam Dingle about 3 years ago

  * **Priority** deleted (<strike>_Low_</strike>)

As an alternative to the radio button, we could allow the user to hold down a
modifier key (e.g. Shift or Ctrl) to keep the zoom level and pan location when
moving from image to image.

  * **Subject** changed from _zoom lock when changing images_ to _preserve zoom and pan when navigating between images_

I just want to express support for this feature. Having an option in the
preferences to enable this behavior would be sufficient for me, because I
would enable this once and forever - just like it is in geeqie and darktable.

I miss this feature very much. I'm using it on my Canon camera all the time.

I think Alt+left/right would be logical, but Shift or Ctrl would be great also
:)

I would also be very happy to see this feature implemented.

Is it on any roadmap for future Shotwell releases?
