---- Reported by jim@yorba.org 2013-06-14 16:06:00 -0700 ----

Original Redmine bug id: 7094
Original URL: http://redmine.yorba.org/issues/7094
Searchable id: yorba-bug-7094
Original author: Jim Nelson
Original description:

If I start in a top Inbox folder (under Inboxes), type a search, then clear
it, I'm returned to the Inbox folder inside the account's section in the
sidebar. It's more intuitive to return to the Inbox one started in.

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here but the desired behavior is in fact how it works for me on Fedora 20, Geary 0.4.2. Was this fixed and never closed?
Comment 2 Jim Nelson 2014-02-12 20:43:57 UTC
Chris, are you using Geary with only a single account? In that case, this problem doesn't manifest itself. It's when you have multiple accounts and you search while in an Inbox located under "Inboxes". When you clear the search bar, you're returned to the Inbox under the account name, not Inboxes.

Sorry -- the description should've been more clear about this.
Comment 3 chris 2014-02-12 21:53:21 UTC
Yes, just a single account. Thanks for clarification!
Comment 4 Federico Bruni 2018-01-07 15:31:57 UTC
This is still true in current Geary.

The new sidebar of bug 730712 might solve this problem.
Comment 5 Michael Gratton 2019-01-15 05:46:55 UTC
Resolving as obsolete all bugs that should be resolved by the sidebar redesign (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=730712). I'd mark them as a duplicate, but bz won't let me :(

Apologies for the noise.
