GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 710158
Right dock cannot be shrunk
Last modified: 2013-10-17 06:20:21 UTC
Running gimp in single window mode with the toolbox and the following dialogs docked with tabs on the right of the window: - tool options - gradient list - gradient editor - histogram - brush options - brush editor - paint dynamics - undo history - paths - font list - colour picker The right dock can be expanded (grown to the left) but refuses to shrink. If expanded significantly the program becomes unusable as an area for the image can no longer be cleared. Only solution seems to be to manually edit the right dock width in ~/.gimp-2.8/sessionrc to be a more reasonable size. Left dock behaves correctly. I have very recently upgraded to gimp 2.8.6 from 2.8.2 but am not 100% sure the bug arrived with it. Program has been compiled from source by gentoo/portage.
Hi, could you try removing your docks one after the other, and try and shrinking the right dock container in between each removal? Maybe this issue comes from one specific dock, and this could allow to detect which. Thanks.
Jethro Donaldson told me in a private email: « after undocking the brush browser it is possible to resize the dock down to what looks to be exactly half of the window width, minus the width of the left dock. after undocking the colour picker the dock responds correctly. this is a good enough fix for me, but looks like a bug nonetheless. » Please next time, answer in bugzilla, not by email.
