GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 710146
Regression - Can't copy files from digital camera - Operation not supported by backend
Last modified: 2013-10-17 06:59:19 UTC
The camera shows up in Nautilus as "USB PTP Camera", it can be browsed and thumbnails are generated. But copying fails with "Operation not supported by backend". This affects all distributions: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=715436 https://bugs.launchpad.net/gvfs/+bug/1217230 https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=984913 https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=165497 It used to work fine in earlier versions.
This is most likely a duplicate of https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=706254
Comment #13 there says, to test, you would "Mount an ftp site and copy from there to another non-local backend". Just tried that - copied a file from FTP to another SFTP server, and got "Operation not supported by backend". Comment 15 even says it fixes the camera issue. Marking as duplicate, thanks *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 706254 ***
