Description Allison Karlitskaya (desrt) 2013-09-29 16:00:33 UTC
In GNOME versions before 3.10, it was possible to control online status from the status menu. In particular, the feature for disabling notifications (and marking myself) busy with a single switch-flip was extremely useful.

It seems that this feature is no longer in the new status menu in 3.10. Asking around, I've heard that there may be some future plans for adding it to the new menu in the notification area, but that hasn't happened yet.

This feature shouldn't have been removed without replacement.

I can confirm this bug is affecting me. Does the user menu only appear when there's more than one user?

This part has been removed in the new designs.

However this part is still present in the mockups (but moved to the message tray), see bug 707073.
