If you create a title clip in pitivi right now, you'll notice that it will always have a 4:3 aspect ratio (or something like that) and be extremely fuzzy because it does not match the project's resolution and aspect ratio.

As far as I can tell, there's no API in GES to do that...

There is an API now, as title-source inherits from video-src since a recent refactoring. Closing.
