Steps to reproduce: (e.g.)
Click File > Create > Logos > Cool Metal
Select a font
Select a different gradient to the default
GIMP crashes at this point

Specific distro used is Arch Linux - https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/35595
And appears to be with PCLinuxOS as well (details in ArchLinux bugs page above)

Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find.

Also, please get 2.8.6, it's fixed there.
