GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 702993
When using UOA, it's impossible to add any gmail-based account on Evolution
Last modified: 2017-08-13 16:44:43 UTC
I'm using Ubuntu Online Accounts in my system, but if I try to configure a new gmail-based account through the Evolution accounts wizard, at the end of the process, nothing happens: evolution doesn't show my new account, and UOA is not asking for the credentials (only the evolution configuration files mention it). The only way I've found to use a gmail account (both with gmail.com and a custom domain) in evolution is to configure it from UOA g-c-c panel. I think that Evolution should at least notify the user that it's impossible to add a such account, instead of just failing silently.
Note that by design, accounts added through Evolution's own account assistant will not be linked to GOA or UOA in any way. Can't confirm - it's working fine on my machine. Sounds like maybe something equivalent to: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=953641
That's fine, but in ubuntu-saucy while using GOA, Evolution adds a new evolution-only account correctly, when using UOA this doesn't happen.
Setting status to NEEDINFO; doesn't look like an E-D-S issue.
