Description l15842 2013-06-01 08:03:13 UTC
This is a rather specific request. I am using Zotero Reference Manager which lets me attach a stored copy of a file. On Windows, however, I can not only select a local file but a file from the web by providing its URL.

This does not work on Gnome.

What I tried so far.

1. In Zotero I right click on an item and select "Add Attachment" > "Attach Stored Copy of File"

2. The "Select a file" window opens.

3. In the location bar I enter the URL [1] but when clicking on "Open" button nothing happens. This is where on Windows it accepts the URL and stores the copy from the web.

Why does this not work on Gnome?

Thanks for the bug report.

The "Select a file" window is not part of nautilus. It is part of gtk+.
