when using the on canvas editor, part of the first letter is cut off, not sure if this is relating to a specific font but Gimp seems to ALWAYS do this with the on canvas editor... font used is Impact which is preinstalled by default on computer

Yeah this sucks and is a known bug. We don't honor the ink rectangle,
only the logical rectangle of the text. For the time being you have
to add a space at the beginning to fix the rendering.
