GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 698792
New tab does not preserve the working directory of the parent tab.
Last modified: 2013-04-24 20:53:35 UTC
I have noticed that in the last gnome-terminal, if one changes directory and then open a new tab, the tab is open in "~" rather that the directory moved into. How to reproduce: 1) open a terminal 2) cd / 3) open a new tab (Ctrl+Shift+T) 4) observe that the opened tab working directory is in "~" rather than "/" I think this behaviour is a regression because: 1) most of the time, the user will want to be in the same working directory. 2) if ever he wanted to be in "~", he can always simply type `cd` which is easier than retyping a long path.
