GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 697081
Using the gnome keyboard causes the tray to stick in the middle
Last modified: 2015-02-23 23:08:21 UTC
This is fairly self evident from the attached screenshots. This happens when you use the gnome on screen keyboard. The big problems are: 1) This bar in the middle of your screen looks ugly. 2) You can't click on anything under it. No, this is not a weird april fool's joke. The only workaround is not using the keyboard, or alt-f2 'r', to fix this. I hate the internet today. Cheers, James

which version of gnome-shell is this ? how do you make the notification stick there ?
(In reply to comment #3) > which version of gnome-shell is this ? Fully updated Fedora 18: $ gnome-shell --version GNOME Shell 3.6.3.1 > how do you make the notification stick there ? First I activate the gnome on screen keyboard. Then I close it. (control-alt shift K or something like that-- i happens a lot accidentally when I control-shift-k to clear highlighting in gedit i think) The message tray is now stuck in the middle of the screen. Then I just ran the terminal command shown. Let me know if you need more info.
Tentatively closing this as fixed - the bottom tray is gone, and notifications are shown right underneath the top bar.
