GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 696816
Calculator doesn't show up in menus in GNOME 3.8.0
Last modified: 2013-05-16 04:22:30 UTC
The calculator is missing from the overview menus in GNOME 3.8.0. Doesn't show up whether you browse the whole list, or search for 'calcul'. <kalev> halfline: it could be fallout from the gnome-calculator.desktop -> gcalctool.desktop rename that happened in the very last minute upstream <kalev> adamw: hey, can you file a ticket at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/enter_bug.cgi?product=gnome-menus , please? I've got a patch that fixes this, will attach it there then.
Created attachment 240086 [details] [review] Adapt for gnome-calculator -> gcalctool desktop file rename gnome-calculator.desktop was renamed back to gcalctool.desktop, at the very last minute before the 3.8.0 release.
Review of attachment 240086 [details] [review]: This could have been avoided if we had _add_ the old desktop file back, instead of _renaming_ it back. Oh well, looks fine to me
Thanks, pushed to master.
(In reply to comment #2) > This could have been avoided if we had _add_ the old desktop file back, instead > of _renaming_ it back. I don't think it would work or make sense to have two .desktop files for the same app.
This is fixed upstream at gnome-calculator-3.8.2
