I'm on Linux Mint Debian Edition, I just installed banshee 2.6 from experimental and it pulled gstreamer (1.0) from unstable, I think (I have also testing on /etc/apt/sources.list so I'm not sure).
Apart that banshee doesn't play MP3s anymore (OGGs work fine..), I noticed that whenever I lower or increase the volume the audio balance slider resets itself in the middle!

I have investigated the issue, the problem is in the new banshee release, not gstreamer. Sorry to disturb.. the bug can be closed.
